David McHardy, aged 43, Inspector, Hongkong Police, was
admitted into the Government Civil Hospital at 4.40 p.m. on the
3rd of December, 1914.
On admission his condition was very serious. The lungs were emphysematous, the heart's action feeble, and the heart itself dilated. The kidneys were diseased the urine contained
blood and albumin, and there was cellulitis of the left side of
forenead and face. The breathing was laboured.

His condition steadily became worse on the 4th towards evening the temperature rose to 100.8° F. The action of the heart
became more embarrassed, and his respirations accelerated and
startorous, and he became unconscious, and died at 4.10 am. on
the 5th, about 36 hours after admission.
The cause of death was Nephritis.
